Today (May 7th, 2012) Overtime Group launched Overtime Mobile Apps for iPhone and Android. This comes after 6 months of development and testing. By now Overtimers should be used to the RSVP system which we introduced in August of 2011. On the mobile app, we have implemented Facebook Connect so our members can use their Facebook accounts to login and not worry about remembering another password. From the App you can RSVP on the go or get the directions to the upcoming event with ease. The biggest benefit is the expedited check-in process that will decrease the time it takes guests to enter the venue. You can now claim your Overtime Rewards quicker! This will be first used at our Thursday Premiere at Hudson Terrace on May 10, 2012. Guests who install and check-in using their mobile apps will get priority access and get to skip the line.

RSVP Process Update

In August we launched a new Membership System. Even though the goal was to streamline the process for both our members and us, we found that this complicated the initial registration for new users. The RSVP process went from 3 steps to 7, with a requirement for all users confirming their email address before they can even register for any events. We noticed that the RSVP rate decreased by 40% for new members, but the attendance of guests who didn’t RSVP to an actual event went up by 3 times.

We have re-worked the process to make it as simple as possible for users to RSVP for their first event. They are now automatically added to the guest-list for the event, and are then sent a confirmation email which they click and ACTIVATE their account by setting a password. All future RSVPs will require them logging in. The good news is that once they log in for the first time, they can save their password and as long as they are using the same computer, their password will be remembered. Overtimers can also use Facebook Connect so they don’t need another password to remember. For us, the databases are all synced so there is less administrative work to do before and after the events.

Starting this week, many users will need to confirm your email address and set a password to RSVP for future Overtime events. Go to My Account.

This will allow for an easier checkin via an iPhone or Android Mobile apps which we hope to release at the end of this year or January of 2012.

Overtime Trailer

This summer we filmed a Trailer for Overtime. The filming took place in at Empire Hotel Rooftop on July 27th and Sky Room on August 4th! Check out the trailer below. This will also be embedded into our Facebook Page when it launches.

New Membership System

Today (August 8th, 2011) Overtime Group launched a new Membership System. This comes after 3 months of development and testing. Our members will no longer need to repeat the same process of submitting information each time they RSVP for an event. We have also implemented Facebook Connect so our members can use their Facebook accounts to login and not worry about remembering another password. There are significant convenience improvements for the users, but most of the benefits are on the administration side. The most important aspect is that the new membership system is connected to our emarketing software MailChimp. This makes it a lot easier for us to create events, send event reminders and review all user statistics.

Another major reason for the upgrade, is that we will be releasing iPhone and Android Apps that will streamline the check-in process and expedite the time it takes to enter the venue, so you can claim your Overtime Rewards quicker!

Overtime surpasses 20,000 members

Today Overtime Group has surpassed an amazing milestone: 20,000 members!

We want to thank each and every member for their support! As we grow, your Overtime Rewards are offered more times and at more places.

Overtime Group was launched on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at The Plumm (now closed). Total attendance for that night was 46 people – mostly our friends.

At the end of the 2010 – 2 years after we started, Overtime had grown to 9,658 members. We were very proud of that number, but had no idea of the rapid growth ahead of us. As we moved to 2 events per week (Empire Hotel Rooftop and Sky Room) our growth exploded. In just 6 months we doubled in size – we knew we hit the tipping point!

We are currently hosting 3 weekly events and are adding 500-800 new members each week. In August we plan to expand to 4 events per week and are contemplating even hosting events on a Monday for a complete after-work schedule.

We have some exciting projects that we are discussing.

iPhone and Android Applications – currently in development.
Nightlife events (potential Masquerade Loft Party in September)
Expansion to other cities in 2012 (Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago)
